You want to know why I love Wednesdays? Well keep reading. Not only do I have class at 9 instead of 8 but I get the opportunity to go the Food and Care Coalition to serve dinner. It's funny how I look forward to every Wednesday at 4. Best part of my week by far! Sad news folks, yesterday was my last day. I have class starting Wednesday nights now and I was told that they don't need help any other days :( I just about cried when I left yesterday but not because it was my last day but because I learned a very valuable lesson that day.
Story time:
My job was to take the trays to the people. This is my favorite job because you get to interact with the clients and a lot of them are really funny. It was kinda slow so I decided to sit down next to this young, and might I add rather good looking man. He was probably about my age and he looked pretty decent for the type of people that typically come in. I tried striking up a conversation with him and it was off to a rocky start. I mean what are you supposed to say, "So what's wrong with your life? Why are you here?" After sometime of silence he asked if I was a student at BYU. I was kinda shocked that he asked but then remember my BYU sweatshirt I was wearing. I responded yes and he just gave me this smile like, " Oh you're one of those girls. Think you're above the rest of us" I didn't really know what to say to that but then he started saying how he was raised here in Provo and had been trying to find a job but was really struggling. He asked if I had a job or if my parents were paying for my schooling. I was actually really happy to report that I work very hard to pay for school myself. I didn't mention that of course I wasn't doing as well as I hoped and regardless I'm pretty dirt poor. I said how I was very lucky to have a job that I enjoy, although sometimes I think it'll kill me. He looked at me and smiled and politely said
"No Grace, you're not lucky, you are blessed."
Then he got up said thanks for talking to me an walked out. For me it hit me to the core. It was one of those "oh my gosh, I love the blessings of tithing" moment. Not only does my over 75% of my schooling get paid for by faithful tithing payers throughout the world but also I receive personal blessing daily for paying my tithing. In fact my paycheck it your tithing. One of the best blessings it that I have a great job that I love and I have to opportunity to learn the value of hard work. I just want to leave with my testimony of tithing. I know it's real because I've seen it's effects in my life. You will always have that what you need when you faithfully pay your tithing. Thanks Mom and Dad for always setting that example for me.

Kar left a message on your "Speaking to me" post. :)
Gracie, It is really amazing how tithing works. I know that it does and it is nice to have that taught at an early age. My Mom and Dad paid it all their lives and look at the blessings they recieved. And the blessing don't always jingle in the pocket either.
